The NBA MVP award recognizes the player with the best performance for that single season. This special award is the most highly anticipated award of the NBA season. Ahead of every new NBA season, everyone gives their early predictions and thoughts for the next reigning MVP. So, I’ll be giving my way-too-early prediction for the 2020–2021 MVP.

First, I want to quickly talk about this past season’s MVP. Giannis Antetokounmpo, also known as the “Greek Freek” is the latest player to win the award. Giannis averaged 29 PPG, 5 APG, and a whopping 13 rebounds per game. The 26 year old Buck, led Milwaukee to a record of 56 wins with 17 losses, which was the best record in the league. The young star won the award for two consecutive seasons, with also winning the award in the 2018–2019 season. Giannis became the 12th player in league history to secure the award in consecutive seasons. The last player to win the award consecutively was Warrior’s star Stephen Curry in 2016.

My 2020–2021 MVP prediction will probably surprise many people. But, at the same time some NBA fans will completely agree with me. Because, the player I believe winning the 2020–2021 MVP award is already familiar with the MVP award. Some people know him as the “Baby Face Assassin”, others know him as “Chef Curry”. I believe Stephen Curry will be the 2020–2021 reigning MVP.
